CoppercoatTM is the obvious choice for owners searching for increased performance with reduced costs.
After application and upon immersion, sea water attacks the exposed pure copper powder, causing the formation of cuprous oxide. This highly effective antifouling agent deters growth until the surface degrades further to become cupric hydrochloride. This final copper form is highly unstable, and is washed away by the movement of the yacht, thereby removing any accumulating silt or slime. This automatically reveals a fresh copper rich surface, whereby the process recommences.
With an average thickness of at least 200 microns of CoppercoatTM marine antifoul being applied in a treatment, and a typical corrosion rate of 5 microns per year, it is easy to appreciate how this coating offers such long lasting and effective protection. During 2001, Yachting Monthly reported on a yacht that had been treated some 8 years previously. The verdict? “A great success”.
Furthermore, the inherent waterproofing qualities of the epoxy ensure that a treatment of CoppercoatTM marine antifoul will help prevent osmosis in GRP craft and offer extra protection against corrosion in steel vessels.
With the resin carrier insulating each copper sphere, the final coating is inert and non conductive. Consequently CoppercoatTM marine antifoul does not cause electrolysis problems or cathodic decay in steel or aluminium craft. Sacrificial anodes should be fitted in the usual manner.
Coppercoat™ is the obvious choice for owners searching for increased performance with reduced costs from:
UNBEATABLE LONGEVITY – Unlike regular coatings, hardwearing Coppercoat™ remains effective for many seasons. A single treatment of Coppercoat™ is proven to remain effective for at least ten years. The first boats treated are still clean after 15 seasons!
EXTRA EFFICIENCY – The combination of high copper content and a unique blend of biocides ensures ultra low growth rates and a clean hull. Motorboat owners report increased speed at lower revs, meaning a lower rate of fuel consumption and less engine wear. Professional racers can burnish the surface if required.
GRP OSMOSIS PROTECTION – Coppercoat™ is based upon an inherently waterproof epoxy resin. As such, the application of Coppercoat™ helps to protect GRP vessels against osmotic attack.
LOW MAINTENANCE – No more expensive and unpleasant annual stripping and repainting of hulls. Simply hose down the hull at regular intervals (commonly once a year), to remove any build up of slime.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY – Being epoxy based Coppercoat™ is classified as non-eroding and causes less harm to the environment than conventional anti-foul paints. The complete treatment has been tested and approved by the Health and Safety Executive, in compliance with UK and EU law. Holding HSE Certificate Number 7532 our anti-fouling is fully approved for use by both professional tradesmen and the general public. Furthermore, Coppercoat™ fully complies with current (2001) International Maritime Organisation (IMO) Resolution MEPC.102(48). These advantages have meant that many of the world’s leading boat builders have adopted Coppercoat™.
It has long been established that energy savings are achieved by maintaining smooth underwater hull and propeller surfaces.
The presence of fouling on propellers is detrimental to the performance of the propeller. Even low levels of fouling on propeller surfaces are shown to cause efficiency losses of 20%. High levels of fouling cause up to a 70% decrease in efficiency.
PropOne is suitable for application to all underwater metallic running gear. Propellers, Trim tabs, Propeller shafts, Rudders, Prop struts and Bow & stern thrusters.
The first and only HARD FILM Siloxane-Flouropolymer FR Coating
SEA-SPEED® V 10 X, The newest evolution and the ultimate in hull coating technology from the Houston, Texas based company SeaCoat Technology. The company has an excellent service record in commercial, military and pleasure craft applications since 2001. SEA-SPEED is designed to combine the best of the three traditional types of underwater hull coatings into one.
The V 10 X incorporates the proprietary technology (VMT). This technology eliminates the need for toxic materials such as Cuprous oxides and biocides. It enables the valence of the coating to change in the presence of water flowing over the coating surface thereby making the surface less attractive for biofilm.
The ” V 10 X ” is a true GREEN alternative to standard TOXIC self-polishing or ablative antifouling paints. It does not deplete, ablate or leach, therefore providing a 10 year warranted coating system.
- Cost per square foot/meter less than or equal to conventional SPC/ablative AF paints
- Toxic AF performance while being “GREEN”
- Foul release of soft duplex silicones
- Reduced drag / Fuel savings of between 6.5% – 10%
- Durability and easy clean of hard coatings
- 10 year warranty
SeaCoat’s Armor-Sil® R/G
The ONLY Hard film Silane – siloxane Propeller and Running gear coating
Armor-Sil® R/G, The latest innovation in marine running gear protection, Armor-Sil® R/G is the culmination of years in development and testing for superior durability and function to protect and maintain fouling free propellers and running gear. Armor-Sil® R/G is the most effective and longest lasting Running gear protection technology available globally. Increasing and maintaining peak performance and durability for years is key for all types of vessels including all pleasure craft and large commercial ships Armor-Sil® R/G is another first for Seacoat technology. Our SEA-SPEED hull coatings have an excellent service record in commercial, military and pleasure craft applications since 2001.
Armor-Sil® R/G is a silane – siloxane nano coating that cures to an extremely hard glass smooth finish. It is a non-stick surface. This technology eliminates the need for toxic materials such as Cuprous oxides and biocides as it also has our proprietary VMT thereby making the surface less attractive for biofilm and organisms. It should be applied over an etching primer (PPV 702) to properly prepared alloys (Props & Shafts) It differs from soft silicones and temporary coatings in that it cures into a very hard, durable and highly abrasion and impact resistant elastomeric film. Armor-Sil® R/G is clear, extremely smooth and forms a NON – STICK surface.
- Non – Stick FRC
- Non-toxic, environmentally safe (no poison)
- Very low V.O.C. emissions (volatile organic compounds)
- Extremely hard yet flexible film to resist against damage and wear

The New Science of Marine Coatings
HIGH PERFORMANCE WATERBASED COPPER ABLATIVE ANTIFOULING
A water based antifoul called Aquashield™, this antifoul provides multi season antifouling protection against barnacles, algae and hydroids in salt and fresh water on boat bottoms only. Its ablative copolymer base renders a smooth finish with durability and abrasion resistance.
Aquashield™ releases biocide by the constant exposure of new paint film to the water. Aquashield™ has universal application over all types of properly prepared bottom paints (except aluminium). For use on fast fibreglass boats, as well as wood and steel hulls.
Surface Preparation: Surface must always be clean, dry and properly prepared prior to painting. Failure to do so will lead to eventually blistering and/or peeling. All sanded surfaces must be wiped clean to remove all traces of sanding dust.
General Application: For use on boats below the true waterline. Can be brushed or rolled on fibreglass, wood, steel and previously painted surfaces per application systems below.
Do not use on aluminium.
Apply at least 2 coats for best performance, as the life of the paint is proportional to the number of coats applied.
Mixing and Thinning: Shake or mix thoroughly and stir continuously while using. Thin when necessary with clean water.
Theoretical Coverage: Depending on surface conditions, one gallon of bottom paint will usually cover over 400 square feet of surface when brushed or rolled.
Clean Up: Use clean water for cleaning equipment and paint brushes.
Estimated Dry Times: Aquashield™ can be over coated after 3-4 hours at 25 degrees C.
Prior to launching, allow a minimum dry of overnight. If drying conditions are poor, or if paint was applied too thickly, longer periods of drying will be required. Fresh coats of paint must be thoroughly dry before over coating.
